我最尊敬的中国朋友们：
上午好！
很荣幸受邀来到北京，参加中国EAP学院2014年年会。
基于对伟大的中国人民的友好感情，也基于对中国新兴的心理咨询事业的良好祝愿，长期以来我一直关注着中国EAP学院的发展。今天我非常惊喜地注意到，这次年会发出了“圆中国和谐梦，让心理学回家”的倡议，这令我感到由衷地高兴和欣慰。在这里，我谨向童菊明女士、李不言先生、李学茹女士和他们优秀的团队表示由衷的敬意和热烈的祝贺！更真诚祝愿这个倡议能得到越来越多的中国心理学工作者、越来越多的中国人的积极关注、重视和响应。
众所周知，西方近代科学理念移植中国，才是百年间的事情。借鉴西方文化而产生的中国心理咨询职业，迄今还只是十几岁的少年。颇耐人寻味的是，在中国人潜心向西方学习心理学理论的同时，却不断有西方心理学家宣称：心理学的故乡在中国！
催眠术创始人布雷德等人都有一种想法，那就是其实心理学的第一个故乡在中国；
分析心理学创立者荣格根据中国《易经》理论，把人格类型划分为“两种倾向、四种机能和八种类型”，提出了著名的人格类型理论；
沙盘游戏技术创始人多拉•卡尔夫把中国文化做为沙盘游戏技术的主要理论基础；
即使是做为认知心理学代表的学者加德纳，以及以其情感智力理论而闻名的学者高尔曼等，也都直言不讳中国文化心理学对他们的影响，尤其是“心”的心理学的意义与价值；
还有，系统排列创始人海灵格的“与道同行”， 人本主义心理学主要代表人物罗杰斯关于“人性本善”的基本假设等，无不透射着中国传统文化的影响……
所以，我有一万个理由相信，在几千年博大精深的中国传统文化滋养、熏陶下，有着优质“集体潜意识”的中国的心理学从业者们，一定可以摒弃门派之见，秉承“和为贵”的中国古训，在“自和谐心理学”的这面旗帜下，发挥中国人特有的聪明才智，共同为世界心理学的大发展，为实现全人类的美好梦想，做出中国人新的、更伟大的贡献！

My dear Chinese friends: Good morning!
It is my honor to be invited to Beijing, China to participate in the 2014 annual meeting of the China EAP College.With my friendly feelings to the great Chinese people and my good wishes for China's reviving psychological counseling business, I have been concerned about the development of China EAP.
Today I was very pleased to notice that the meeting promotes such theme as "Let the Chinese deam of harmony come true and let the psychology come home!" This made me feel very happy and pleased.
Here, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Ms. Tong Juming, Mr. Li Buyan, Ms. Li Xueru and their excellent team!
More sincerely I wish this initiative can get more positive attention and response from Chinese psychologists and Chinese people.
It is well known that scientific idea from modern western was transplanted in China about hundred years ago, but the Chinese psychological consultation basic on western culture is only a child in his teens.
Interestingly enough, while Chinese people devote to learning psychology theory from the west, but the western psychologists claim that psychology's hometown is in china! Hypnosis founder Blade and others have an idea, they think that the first homeland of psychology is actually in china; Carl Jung, the founder of psychological analysis and the author of a famous theory of personality type, basic on China's "Book of Changes" theory, suggested that a personality can be divided into "two kinds of tendencies, four kind of functions and eight kind of types". Dora calve, the founder of Sandplay, uses Chinese culture as a major foundatiion to build her theory. Even Gardiner, the scholar who represents the cognitive psychology, and Gallman who is well known for its emotional intelligence theory, outspoke that influence of the Chinese cultural psychology, especially the significance and value of the “heart" psychology. Also, “go with way" by Hellinger, the founder of the system arrangement, and "human nature is good" by Rodgers who represents humanism psychology, their basic assumptions reflect the influence of Chinese traditional culture as well.
So, I have ten thousand reasons to believe that, in the thousands of years of extensive and profound Chinese traditional culture and influence, Chinese psychology practitioners with a high-quality "collective unconscious" surely can get rid of the bias among schools, and adhering to the Chinese old teaching "He Weigui"(harmony is the most cheritable).Under the banner of “self harmonious psychology", will put into a full play of Chinese people's unique ingenuity. Together Chinese people can make a new and greater contribution to the world psychology and to achieve the dream of all mankind,
